Chicago, IL (January 5, 2009) - David E. Nelson, senior vice
president of sales and distribution for national life and health insurer
Bankers Life and Casualty Company, has been named to the Board of Directors for
the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE).
"The Life Foundation is pleased and honored to have Dave join the
LIFE board," said Marv Feldman, President/Chief Executive Officer of LIFE, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to helping consumers make smart insurance
decisions to safeguard their families' financial futures. "Dave's industry
background and knowledge will be extremely helpful to LIFE in providing
guidance and leadership as the Foundation plans its programs and awareness
campaigns in the coming years."
Nelson, who started as a LIFE board member on
January 1, 2009, said that
he is delighted to be involved with the Foundation. "The commitment and energy
that they bring to their work," he said, "make a significant difference in
helping consumers understand how insurance can support their overall financial
goals at every stage of life."
Nelson joined Bankers Life and Casualty Company in 2007. He leads
the company's nationwide field organization along with home office teams
responsible for field metrics and reporting, distribution support, and the
company's primary training resource for field agents and managers.
