BANKERS LIFE AND CASUALTY COMPANY'S BRICK, NEW JERSEY BRANCH RAISES $7,605 FOR ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION, GREATER NEW JERSEY CHAPTER
Brick, NJ (September 1, 2009) -
Bankers Life and Casualty Company's Brick, New Jersey branch sales
office recently raised $7,605 for the Alzheimer's Association,
Greater New Jersey Chapter, as part of the company's annual Forget
Me Not Days® fundraiser.
The office ranked among the company's
top 10 fundraisers in the event, which raised money for local
Alzheimer's Association chapters.
Over 70 from the Brick office joined
volunteers from a local sales office in New Jersey and an affiliate
office in Staten Island, to collect donations. In exchange, each
donor was given a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in memory
of the 5.3 million Americans who live with Alzheimer's.
"We get a great deal of satisfaction
from giving our time to this cause," explained Robert Birty, Branch
Sales Manager of Bankers' Brick, New Jersey office. "It's not only
an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the disease, but to
also give back to the community we serve, with 100 percent of the
donations going to the Alzheimer's Association."
Patricia Lombreglia, President and CEO
of the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, said,
"On behalf of the thousands of New Jerseyans struggling with the
effects of Alzheimer's disease, I'd like to express my deep thanks
and appreciation to Bankers Life and Casualty Company associates
for their Forget Me Not Days canister collection drive, and for
their tremendous energy with ticket sales for our Legendary Links
Golf Raffle and our Polo Classic Vacation Raffle. The funds raised
will help provide support and services to individuals affected by
Alzheimer's disease."
