BANKERS LIFE AND CASUALTY COMPANY'S SCARBOROUGH BRANCH RAISES $6500 FOR ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION MAINE CHAPTER
Scarborough, ME (September 21, 2009) -
Bankers Life and Casualty Company's Scarborough branch sales office
recently raised $6,500 for the Alzheimer's Association, Maine
Chapter as part of the company's annual Forget Me Not Days®
fundraiser.
The Scarborough office ranked among
the company's top 10 fundraisers in the event, which united the
insurer's Chicago-based home office with its branch sales offices
nationwide in raising money for their local Alzheimer's Association
chapter.
Scott Barker, Branch Sales Manager for
the Scarborough office, commented that the event was a true team
effort with all of the branch's agents participating. Working
closely with representatives from the Alzheimer's Association,
Maine Chapter, they created a successful fundraiser, which included
a golf outing and raffle. Many who donated knew others living with
Alzheimer's and made their contributions in appreciation for the
money-raising effort.
"We get a great deal of satisfaction
from giving our time to this cause," explained Barker. "It's not
only an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the disease,
but to also give back to the community we serve, with 100 percent
of the donations going to the Alzheimer's Association."
"We are grateful to have the support
of Bankers Life and Casualty's Scarborough sales office," said
Cathy McGuckin, Manager, Development/Special Events for the
Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter. "They took the initiative
to create a successful fundraiser that will help us provide
services to our community and help raise awareness of Alzheimer's
and the importance of early detection."
