Website Privacy
Statement
Your privacy and security are extremely important. We take our
obligation to keep your information secure and confidential very
seriously. That's why we maintain the following standards to help
protect information that personally identifies you.
Website Security
For your protection, any and all on-line data must pass through
our secure server. The security protocol that is utilized is called
Secure Socket Layer (SSL). SSL protects all data transmissions
between your PC and our secure server. SSL utilizes authentication
and encryption technology developed by RSA Data Security, Inc. This
method of cryptography means that your personal information cannot
readily be deciphered by unauthorized individuals. Our secure
server uses encryption verified by GlobalSign, Inc., a leading
provider of secure online certificates.
Personal Information
Visitors to this site are not required to register or provide
any personal information to browse the site. Of course, visitors
who request contact from an agent or e-mail us a question must
provide their contact information (name, street address, city,
state, zip code, phone number, e-mail address). Other information
may also be needed to process an inquiry (such as date of birth,
policy number or the last four digits of your social security
number). We will store information so that we can personalize your
visits, administer business, and notify you of products and
services that may be of interest to you.
Sharing
Bankers Life and Casualty Company works closely with certain
third parties who perform services on our behalf, including but not
limited to managing information and providing customer service.
Such third parties have access to your personal information only to
the extent necessary to perform their functions, and may not use or
disclose it for any other purpose. Unless you instruct us not to
share your personal information, or your state law does not allow
us to share your information without your authorization, we may
share your personal information with affiliate companies so they
can inform you about the products which you have indicated an

Cookies
Most web sites use "cookies" and so do we. A cookie is a bit of
information that is stored on a visitor's hard drive that helps us
learn how large groups of people use the site, and helps us collect
information to track usage patterns, assess web content and
structure, and tailor the site to your interests and preferences.
We collect this information on an aggregate basis. No individual
information is associated with it, unless you provide it to us
through transactions such as requesting contact by an agent. Our
goals are to better understand your interests, make our site more
useful to you, and understand the most effective forms of
advertising.
The terms of the above privacy statement are effective 6/17/04.
If we revise the terms we will post them here, along with a
